How to create a successful YouTube video game channel with a professional gaming studio setup
11/11/2023
Written by Mark Kelly

Hey there, if you're interested in creating a successful YouTube video game channel, you've come to the right place. I'm a seasoned gamer and content creator, and I'm excited to share my tips and advice on how to make it in this competitive space. Here are my suggestions on how to create a successful YouTube video game channel from a first-person perspective.

1. Find Your Niche

The first thing you need to do is find your niche. What games are you most passionate about? What aspect of gaming do you want to focus on? Do you want to provide walkthroughs, reviews, Let's Play videos, or cover eSports? You need to find a niche that you're passionate about and knowledgeable in. This will make your content more authentic and engaging.

I'm really into first-person shooters, so I decided to create a channel that focuses on that. I create walkthroughs, reviews, and gameplay videos for FPS games. This has helped me attract a dedicated audience that loves the same types of games as me.

2. Invest in Quality Equipment

Once you've found your niche, it's time to invest in quality equipment. You don't need to spend a fortune on gear, but you do need to have reliable equipment that produces good audio and video quality. Here's what I use:

  • Camera: Canon EOS Rebel T7 DSLR camera
  • Microphone: Blue Yeti USB microphone
  • Editing Software: Adobe Premiere Pro

You don't need to use the same gear as me, but make sure you invest in equipment that fits your needs and budget.

3. Develop Your Brand

Your brand is what sets you apart from other YouTubers. You need to develop a strong brand identity that reflects your niche and personality. This includes choosing a memorable channel name, creating a logo, and establishing a consistent visual style for your videos.

For my channel, I chose the name FPS Gamer and created a logo that incorporates a gun and a joystick. I also use a consistent color scheme and visual style for my videos.

4. Be Consistent

Consistency is key when it comes to building a successful YouTube channel. You need to set a schedule for uploading videos and stick to it. This helps your viewers know when to expect new content from you. I upload a new video every Tuesday and Friday, and I always make sure to stick to that schedule.

5. Engage with Your Audience

Engaging with your audience is crucial for building a loyal fan base. Respond to comments, ask for feedback, and create content that your viewers will enjoy. I always make sure to reply to comments on my videos, and I take feedback into consideration when creating new content.

6. Promote Your Channel

Promoting your channel is essential for attracting new viewers. Use social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram to promote your videos and engage with your audience. You can also collaborate with other YouTubers in your niche to cross-promote each other's channels.

Creating a successful YouTube video game channel takes time and effort, but if you follow these tips and stay consistent, you can build a loyal fan base and achieve success in this exciting space.
